Accessibility at Resting Royals

The Resting Royals website has been designed with people living with ME/CFS, cognitive fatigue, sensory sensitivity and low-energy days in mind.

How this site is designed

Because energy and concentration can be limited, the site is deliberately kept simple and undemanding. The design principles include:

  • Short sections, so pages can be read in small amounts
  • Clear headings and simple navigation
  • Readable text in a calm, high-contrast palette
  • Generous spacing and reduced visual clutter
  • Mobile-friendly layout that works at smaller sizes
  • No autoplay audio or video
  • No unnecessary animation or motion
  • Quick Read summaries on many Resource pages, for days when reading is difficult
  • A deliberate focus on low cognitive load wherever possible

Accessibility needs vary, and no website design will work perfectly for everyone. Resting Royals aims to make the site as straightforward and low-demand as reasonably possible.
