Pacing One-Pager
The whole approach on one page — for the fridge or a phone screenshot.
A keep-close version. Read it here, or screenshot this page to have it on your phone — print and PDF copies will appear once final files are attached.
Pacing, compressed to its essentials: check capacity, choose the main thing, protect the rest, keep a margin. Nothing here is a formula — it's a habit of noticing and adjusting.
The whole approach
- Check capacity first — the day takes its size from today, not from yesterday or the calendar
- One main thing, chosen when rested
- The meaningful thing goes in first; necessary things fit around it
- Rest is protected, not squeezed out
- A margin left deliberately unused
- Decide the version before you start — stop point included
- Count all exertion: thinking, sensing, emotion, upright, speaking
- Worse today? Yesterday may explain it — delayed PEM is real
- Better days aren't for catching up — decided in advance, lived at a steadier size
Adjustment is pacing. A week that was resized five times and kept going is the practice working — not failing.
