Postponement Scripts Card
Three sentences that park a decision kindly and completely — for appointments, counters and conversations.
A keep-close version. Read it here, or screenshot this page to have it on your phone — print and PDF copies will appear once final files are attached.
Postponing out loud closes the loop without closing the thinking — and it costs one sentence. A decision parked with a date costs nothing; a decision left floating costs every day it floats.

The line
- “I'll come back to you on that — I don't decide things on the spot.”
- “I'll let you know by Friday. You'll have your answer then.”
- “That's not something I can think about today, but it's noted.”
When to say it
- A professional pushing for an answer in the room
- A form on the counter wanting a decision now
- A message asking for a yes by tonight
- Your own brain demanding the decision be made today
'I don't decide things like this on the spot' is a complete answer — and a boundary. Handling the pushback lives in Communication & Boundaries.
