Short messages to send — or give to someone to send for you: the one-contact update, the request for help, the reschedule.
A keep-close version. Read it here, or screenshot this page to have it on your phone — print and PDF copies will appear once final files are attached.
Written on a better day, sent as-is, with the blanks optional. A pre-written message asking for help is not weaker than a fresh one — it's the same message, prepared earlier.
The one-contact update
Pick the update
- “I'm in a bad flare. I'm okay — I just can't reply for a while. Can you let people know?”
- “Crashed. Safe, but flat for a few days. Please handle anything that needs handling; I'll message when I'm back.”
- “Rough week. I'm okay and I'll be quiet — texts fine, no replies expected.”
The help request
Pick the request
- “Can you bring milk and something easy to eat and leave it at the door? I can't talk today.”
- “I need help and I'm not up to explaining — the note by the kettle says what helps.”
- “Could you ring them for me and reschedule? The details are in my notes app.”
The reschedule
Pick the reschedule
- “I'm significantly unwell and can't attend. Can we reschedule, or is there a phone option?”
- “I need to change my appointment — I'm in a bad flare. Please note I may need a call rather than coming in.”
Words spent once, carried by one person, reach everyone. Three words to one person is enough on a day like this.
