Comparison Reframe

Having four true things ready for comparison days, instead of arguing with yourself mid-spiral.

A keep-close version. Read it here, or screenshot this page to have it on your phone — print and PDF copies will appear once final files are attached.

Comparison runs in two directions, and both are rigged: sideways against edited outsides, or backwards against a body you no longer have. This builds your honest responses in advance — before the comparison day arrives.

Today's comparison

Sideways — someone else's life, energy, careerBackwards — the me who managed moreBoth, taking turns

The honest responses (pick the ones that land)

  • I'm seeing their outside and my inside — a full account against a highlight reelIt cannot produce an honest result
  • The former me was operating a different bodyFactual — and completely unfair as a standard for this one
  • 'Behind' only means something relative to a scheduleAnd the schedule was never real
  • This comparison is fog and fatigue talkingOn a better day, this doesn't land the same way

The one true thing I'd say instead

My version

e.g. Two years ago I'd have managed today differently. Today I managed it — and that's the only honest comparison.

The smallest kind action for a comparison day

Not a fix — just something that isn't scrolling.

My small move

e.g. Message the friend who knows the real account

Shame shrinks in company and in speaking; kept silent, it grows. Whatever you wrote here is worth saying to someone safe, on the days it gets loud.
