Supporter Prompt Cards

Giving helpers the exact words that make their goodwill land lightly.

A keep-close version. Read it here, or screenshot this page to have it on your phone — print and PDF copies will appear once final files are attached.

For the people who want to help but don't know what to say: ready sentences that arrive as low-decision offers — the kind where the answer is yes, no, or silence, and never a project.

The sentences that work on you

'I'm shopping Thursday — want me to add your list?''I'll come by at two and bring lunch, unless you tell me otherwise.''No reply needed to this — just know I'm thinking of you.''I'm doing a batch-cook Sunday. Does a portion dropped at the door help?''I have an hour spare Saturday — admin, errand, or company. Which, if any?'

Build: the low-decision offer template

The formula: what I'm doing anyway + when + a yes/no answer shape.

What I'm doing anyway

  • “I'm cooking anyway this weekend —”
  • “I'm passing yours tomorrow —”
  • “I'm at the shops on Thursday —”

The concrete offer

  • “does a portion in a tub, at the door, help?”
  • “want me to add milk and bread to my shop?”
  • “could I take the parcel back for you?”

The pressure-remover

  • “No need to reply — if I don't hear, I'll take it as a no.”
  • “Yes or no is plenty. Either is completely fine.”
  • “You can say no and I'll ask again next week, no feelings involved.”

The version of me these fit

A note on your weather, so helpers can follow you between states.

Good week / bad week instructions

e.g. Good week: company welcome, short visits. Bad week: doorstep only, texts, no replies expected.

The people worth keeping are made, not found: made by telling them kindly what each state needs. These cards are how they get made.
