Use only what is manageable. You do not need to read this page all at once.

Very short version

Keep the essentials within reach, make screens and drinks hands-free where possible, and let rest be whatever position is manageable.

A little more, if it is useful today:

  • Keep water, food and medication within easy reach of wherever you rest.
  • A small basket or box beside you can hold the few things you use most, so nothing needs fetching.
  • Lying down or reclining is valid rest. There is no need to sit up for rest to count.
  • A phone stand or prop can hold a screen so you do not have to. A long cable or power bank can keep it charged without reaching.
  • An eye mask, soft blanket, earplugs or headphones can reduce stimulation if that helps today.
  • A spare set of small basics — tissues, lip balm, a snack — kept where you rest saves trips on harder days.
  • Rest does not have to feel peaceful to count.
