Very short version
Lower light, sound, touch and screen input where you can. Every reduction is worth having; you do not have to reduce everything.
A little more, if it is useful today:
- Lamps on low, or warm lighting, can feel easier than bright overhead lights.
- An eye mask or closed curtains helps when light feels harsh.
- Soft earplugs or headphones can lower sound. For some people, quiet familiar audio is easier than silence.
- Screens on lower brightness, with larger text and muted backgrounds, may reduce strain.
- Loose, soft clothing without seams or labels can reduce touch sensitivity. Weight from blankets helps some people and not others.
- Asking visitors to keep voices low and lights off is a reasonable request. You can also ask people to tell you before turning lights on or touching you.
