If I Cannot Explain

Giving someone the essential picture without a single sentence from you.

A keep-close version. Read it here, or screenshot this page to have it on your phone — print and PDF copies will appear once final files are attached.

A short card of facts for the moments when explaining isn't possible — hand it over, show it on a screen, or keep a screenshot in your photos.

I have ME/CFS — I may have difficulty with

  • Speaking
  • Sitting or standing upright
  • Processing questions
  • Tolerating light or noise
  • Responding quickly
  • Moving without help

Please

  • Speak slowly
  • Ask one question at a time
  • Allow time for a response
  • Keep light and noise low where possible
  • Use my supporter if I agree
  • Don't assume silence means agreement
  • Don't assume I can't understand

Anything else this person should know

The extra line

e.g. My supporter Anna can be called — number in my phone
